Bouquiniste, it's French for bookseller. Merlo, it's Australian for good coffee. Café Bouquiniste, specialises in both of these, plus a well sourced collection of delightful, pretty, nice smelling things like decadent soaps, vintage French postcards and even rubber stamps.

Standing alone on Merthyr Rd, just a short walk from Merthyr Village, Café Bouquiniste might as well be located in the French Countryside. It's such a relaxing little nook; it's hard to believe that any reputable Brisbane café goer wouldn't have ever taken the pleasure.

Coffee, books and beautiful things aren't all Bouquiniste deals in, there are toasted sandwiches, delicious savoury tarts and plenty of cakes and sweets to choose from, and if you come at a reasonable hour you can get the Bouquiniste quick breakfast toastie. All at very modest prices. After the Bouquiniste experience - expect to come home feeling as little deflated, wishing your living room looked as quaint.
