Sick under the covers last Thursday night huh? Warm vegetable soup and ginger-siberianginseng-spiritualina overdose? Friends rope you into a game of Fifa that didn't seem to stop? Were you feverishly dreaming of skateboards that resemble nü-urban parks and broomsticks? Were you stuck in Berlin last Thursday night? OK, so you missed the party.
For the past five years, Matt Brady has put his heart and soul into making I Used To Skate Once the biggest party one can witness outside of a festival. The guy's dedicated, alright. Now on its sixth leg, IUSO doesn't stop gaining momentum each time around, with more artists participating each year.

Jason Nelson likes to whittle. He told me so. I can imagine a humble man sitting on an even more humble verandah in the Gold Coast hinterland whittling away, distracted by the modest craft instead of being preoccupied with a computer. While it's true he likes a bit of p&q as much as the next guy, getting digital is really his thing and it's the real life good stuff that feeds into his practice.
When was the last time you went to Stones Corner? The ex-mecca of garish fashion, boarded up buildings, and apparently, the best burek in Brisbane. Yeah it's been a while for me too. The fear it instilled in me as a child was enough to keep me away. Guess what - it changing guys! Creative Outlets is a new initiative pulling the ol' art as urban renewal number on the area and adding a bit of colour to the Australian Ugliness (take that, Robin Boyd).
Perks and Mini, aside from being brilliant designers and making crazy websites, have also got a publishing company. Did any of you read the interview with Aaron Rose the other week? Inspiring guy. If his publishing company, Alleged Publishing, was based in Australia, it would look somewhat like PAMBOOK.
Developing your film in le olde soup just ain't that easy these days, because there aren't that many places left to develop film - and fewer where you can do it yourself. Even trusty Ted's have diverted to digital. Sometimes we just want real photos - the kind you keep in your pillow or that follow you around in your diary.
