BATS. is a Brisbane based zine made by a collection of girls with an average age of 16.6 years. They might be collectively underage, but what they lack in adulthood they make up for in attitude and street-sense. In fact, being 18 never made anyone any smarter or for that matter, cooler. BATS. is satirical, it's dark, it's original and it truly hits the nail on the head when it comes to a triumphant first-issue-zine.

Just when we all thought that Van She had gone to the dark side, they have risen against the token support band curse, released a new album, learnt how to DJ and now Modular sings their praises by sending their pretty little asses on a national tour that boasts posters on every electricity pole in your capital city - you know the one with the pussy-licking innuendo.
GoMA really is the best thing to happen in Brisbane, culturally, since Lord Mayor Jim Soorley left the office. If you’re looking for a gift or simply rewarding yourself for having never voted for ol’ mate Jim in the first place, then the Gallery Store Modern is the place to find all your culturally explicit novelty and educational resources.
Well it isn’t exactly strictly LOOK. We lied. Was it the matinee that give it away? The Old Museum is that gorgeous heritage listed building that sits perched at the top of the Valley towards Bowen Hills. It’s used mostly for the Orchestra, Zen Zen Zo and yoga groups with the occasional private function.
Has the world gone foodie-mad? Everyone wants to be the next Jamie Oliver/Nigella Lawson or Gordon ‘the f word’ Ramsey (p.s Ramsey you’re not hot and you need to wash your mouth out). If you do get-off on Ramsey and the rest of them - then this is the movie for you, you cockney loving swine.
Tom Hall is a Brisbane based artist whose practise involves explorations into place, space and time. So you’re thinking, well that makes me an artist too right? I’m always looking around the place, running late, being very aware of my personal space on public transport. The difference between your awareness of your surroundings and Tom’s - is that he turns his into compositional installations and manages to tell a story through the use of sounds and images (and you were lost at figuring out how to turn your bus tickets into art).
If you’re still drunk and stumbling across the Story Bridge on a Sunday morning, you would, and rightfully so, laugh at ‘the crazy people’ canoeing along below you. Truth be told, these crazies were probably in bed before you even got into Family. Yep, they were getting fat Z’s while you were slamming down Jager-bombs and other colourful things.
