While I am making steady progress ticking things off my Life To-Do-List, the seemingly attainable goal of ‘be a studio audience member in a commercial television show' has consistently eluded me. I have received countless knock-backs from shows as diverse as Deal or No Deal and Tony Jones's Q&A.
Normally we wouldn't quote directly from an artists bio because that's just plain lazy. But when it comes to shedding a little light on awesome UK artist French who is just about to open an exhibition at new gallery Nine Lives, there's no way that we can tell it any better than this:
"French is from Aldershot, but lives in Brixton.
Is it a cliché that springtime should have me obsessing over the finches and the bees, is it completely predictable that I should be feeling all femme and fickle, are my urges to sit around at home all day baking cupcakes and double-strawing ice cream sodas entirely counter-productive?
If you just rolled your eyes and said "Man, that chick has an incurable case of sweetopia" you'd be right.
It's not often that we review dance performances in FourThousand. There are at least three perfectly good reasons for that - one, there has been more than enough dancing on television lately, two, I'm still recovering from the humiliation of dancing inside a sausage suit at my high school's ‘Great Australian BBQ'-themed Rock Eisteddfod, and three, most dancing is actually just lame (unless you can freestyle like this).

We'll keep this short and sweet and sad, because we have some sad news. The best vintage store ever to exist in Brisbane is closing down. There's no exact date for the closure, but it will be sometime very soon, and there's heaps of amazing clothes going out really cheap and you totally need to get to them before anyone else does.
