Visual junkies: looking for an art show to capture the full extent of your aesthetic attention span? Bat your lashes no further than Brandon Specht's debut exhibition tomorrow night.
Specht's creations are a plethora of abstract formations, vanished surfaces and pools of colour. Playing outside the conventional with hardly a brush-mark in sight he mixes enamel, acrylic and water-based paints together at different stages of the drying process.
Millie Fairhall was the cool art-kid at school who you'd pay 20c to draw on your ruler - probably in hope you'd be able to sell it for millions one day. Nowadays, you'll be walking through the Valley Markets and pay her 10 times that for one of her uniquely styled items of clothing - probably in hope that you'll be seen just a touch cooler.
The Curvy launch and bonus art show is stretching its pretty pink wings out for another year. To celebrate the release of the super 6th edition of the Curvy book, Mel Baxter and Nine Lives (yes, the all-boy gallery has decided it needs a little less dick and a little more chick) are hosting an all girl exhibition to coincide with the Brisbane leg of the national book launch tour.
Your favourite annual all-girl art book has just produced it's very precious 6th edition. For the past 5 years the book has featured 100 of the most exciting female graphic designers and illustrators from over 20 countries around the world. Curvy 6 has stepped out that little bit further to feature 120 artists from 39 countries; what was once curvy has just become (just a teeny bit) curvier.
